Cristina Castellanos was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and emphasis in health promotion. While attending the university, she was an intern with the AZHEALTHTXT program for the Arizona Center for Rural Arizona to curate health messages and infographics in English and Spanish for the rural regions of Arizona. Cristina loves to keep herself active in Tucson by getting involved in organizations that provide the tools necessary to grow and prosper as a community. At the University of Arizona, she participated and obtained leadership positions at her college through the Public Health Undergraduate Network and the College of Public Health Ambassadors by establishing relationships between the college and organizations in the Tucson community and providing the resources that allowed for future public health professionals to thrive. Cristina is currently the Program Navigator for the Por Vida program. She assists in providing health services, identifying barriers to care, and developing care plans for Latino youth who tested positive for HIV/STDs and reported substance misuse.
