Patricia was born in Agua Prieta, Sonora, and moved to Tucson when she was 10 years old. She holds an associate degree in accounting from Chaparral College and has over 20 years of accounting experience.

Patricia began her accounting career with Southern Arizona AIDS foundation in 2003 as an Accounting Clerk. After two years, she left to start a construction business with her husband. In that company, Patricia is in charge of business management and bookkeeping.

In 2007, she started working for Engineering and Environmental Consultants as an Associate Accountant where she was in charge of bookkeeping, payroll, and preparing financial statements, and budgets for all departments.

In 2017, Patricia started working as a contractor bookkeeper for Amistades. Initially, she was in charge of accounts payable and financial data management. Now, Patricia is the Finance Manager and is responsible for monitoring bank accounts, reconciliation, bookkeeping, instructing program staff on financial procedures, developing financial procedures and policies, and maintaining business files in the office.

Patricia also helps the agency with the Annual 1099’s, prepares the annual Workers’ compensation report, audit prep and audit, and advises management on best practices and proposes any changes that may be needed to ensure greater efficiency and accuracy.
