Cuentos LGBTQ

In collaboration with the Arizona Community Foundation’s Kellenberger + Tollefson Center for LGBTQ Philanthropy, Cuentos is a year-long, intergenerational healing initiative that brings together LGBTQ+ elders and youth to address mental health, safety, and social isolation through storytelling and shared reflection. Using culturally rooted Círculos (healing circles) and multimedia as conversation catalysts, participants share lived experiences, dismantle stigma, and foster connection across generations. Centering the voices of LGBTQ+ adults age 55 and older, particularly within Latino communities, Cuentos creates safe spaces for healing, dignity, and belonging amid rising discrimination and social stress. Through story, dialogue, and cultural affirmation, the program strengthens emotional wellness and builds community resilience rooted in acceptance and collective care.
