Annahi Montes de Oca was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. She completed her Associates in Liberal Arts at Pima Community College before transferring to the University of Arizona where she graduated with her Bachelor’s in Psychology and a minor in Spanish and Human Services.
Before working for Amistades, Inc., Annahi worked in the field of Education serving Chicanos por la Causa Community Schools (CPLC). Here, she worked as an Academic Advisor, Culinary Arts teacher and Student Support Specialist, striving for inclusivity, diversity, and mental health among the youth in the community.
Annahi has always had a continuing passion for the success and welfare of the community she grew up in and now works for. As the Program Coordinator for Caras de Esperanza and SACLAZ 3, Annahi aims to engage Latino youth in Opioid, methamphetamine and prescription drug prevention. In these programs she applies Latino grounded culture and community defined practices to help create a more secure and healthy community.
