Barbara was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She attended a Catholic School, St John the Evangelist Catholic School, from first to eighth grade. She then graduated from Pueblo High School in South Tucson. Barbara loved playing sports such as softball and volleyball and attended Pima Community College on a volleyball scholarship.

Barbara first worked in Superior Court, in the Jury Commission’s Office for seven years where she worked on providing juror information to legal counsel for jury selection process. She then went on to work for private attorneys in the Tucson area for over 15 years for an array of legal focuses that include the practices of Workmen’s Compensation, Social Security Disability Law, Criminal Law, and Family Law. Her roles in working in private practice included keeping financial records, billings, bookkeeping, and legal processing. Prior to joining the Amistades team, Barbara worked for a CPA firm near the town of Oro Valley, focusing on the processing of personal and business income taxes for electronic filings. Included in her duties was processing business invoices and accounts receivables.

Barbara is working with the finance team regarding payroll processing, bookkeeping, and billings. She looks forward to a complete comprehension of the financial aspect of operating a nonprofit organization at Amistades. Barbara has a broad range of responsibilities working here as a finance assistant which include data entry on QuickBooks, filing, preparing invoices, scanning, and organizing finance documents.

Barbara stayed active in playing co-ed volleyball due to its fast pace and was part of a city softball league. In her spare time. Barbara loves to bake and tool leatherwork to make unique designs.
