Funded by the State Opioid Response Substance Abuse Leaders of Arizona, coalitions from across Arizona are working together in a first-of-its-kind effort to save lives across the state. Organizations are working together to create the “Rise of Fentanyl” toolkit to aid communities in preventing and reversing overdoses. The overall goal of the project is to educate and create awareness for youth, parents, and communities throughout the state of Arizona on the dangers of fentanyl and how to mitigate increased use. The content within the toolkit consists of counterfeit pills and fentanyl, naloxone, youth resiliency, and stigma among substance use disorders. Currently, SACLAZ is being implemented in the service zip codes of 85705, 85706, and the neighboring areas. Nearly 85 individuals in the community have been reached through presentations, training, and outreach efforts.
