Amistades has amplified its existing Latino Capacity Building Workshop Series by adapting its workshop topics to include a more specific focus on Latino men, boys, and their families and integrating new workshops. The Niños Sanos, Hombres Fuertes training series, funded by Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP), has undoubtedly continued to cultivate community support. The series is part of HIP’s Southwest Latino Men and Boys Initiative, supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Amistades understands the need for the radical transformation in how providers engage and serve Latino men, boys, and their families. Niños Sanos, Hombres Fuertes is also part of the City of Tucson Mayor’s My Brother’s Keeper Community Challenge and presents an exciting opportunity to leverage existing cultural competence efforts that are the hallmark of Amistades as an organization.
